NATIONAL ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY

It's National Root Beer Float Day! What better way to celebrate it than by enjoying a delicious root beer float made with Minnesota born root-beer!

I have my favorite root beers for sure...but it's hard not to celebrate with a great Minnesota made root beer like 1919 made in New Ulm Minnesota.

Just the name itself has significant meaning. They named their root beer 1919 because that was the year that hundreds of breweries were facing the possibility of closing due to prohibition. The breweries were trying to create "near" beer creations in order to stay open, and continued to do so until prohibition was over.

1919 ROOT BEER BASED OUT OF NEW ULM MINNESOTA

The brew 1919 is made in small batches, and is made with real sugar instead of corn syrup. Interestingly, it is also gluten free! Who knew! It is also made with real Vanilla.

Not only is it gluten free; it is also caffeine free, alcohol free, and as mentioned, contains no corn syrup.

THE 1919 ROOT BEER FLOAT

  • Fill a glass of 1919 Root Beer ¾ full and top with 1-2 scoops of a top quality ice cream. Serve with a spoon and one or two straws!

Note: Remember to float the ice cream in last or the root beer will "work" its way up.

TRY THE 1919 ROOT BEER FREEZE

  • Fill a blender with ice cream and add ¾ of 1919.
  • Blend as you would a milk shake and serve with a spoon and straw.

WHERE CAN YOU FIND IT IN CENTRAL MN?

I know that you can find it at Westside Liquor locations. Some of those locations also have 12 packs of 16 ounce cans. Enjoy!
