COVID’s Impact on Minnesota Fast-Food Chains
The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has canceled a lot of things. From concerts and college classes to sporting events and 4th of July firework shows. But that is not all -- you can also add DIETS to that list.
Eating healthy for many of us went right out the window. Fast food, junk food, doesn't matter. If it is cheap and makes us feel better for a little while, then we are all about it. This COVID made us really discover how simple and easy it is to have some burgers, tacos, or whatever, delivered right to us. I mean, why move at all? So not only did COVID make people eating healthy go away, it made us move way less.
So with all this delivery, curbside pickup thing going on -- what, bad-for-us, fast food joints saw the most success?
According to a study from TOP Data, it was Taco Bell that came out on top. It was the fast-food destination for Minnesotans since COVID came in and changed our lives. Culver'scame in second.
At first, I was surprised. I would take Culver's any day of the week. It comes down to options for me. You've got more of them at a place like Culver's. Then I thought, it has to boil down to sheer numbers. Taco Bell as WAY more locations than Culver's.
Side note: I'm still mad at Taco Bell for their free Chalupa Cravings Box screw up.

Sonic was #1 in the country followed by Wendy's and Taco Bell. They tied for the #2 position.
