Dumb Laws Minnesota Has… or Not.

Living in Minnesota, I think we have all heard that "law" that says that you cannot cross from Minnesota into Wisconsin with a duck on your head.  I have no idea where that law would come from, but apparently it isn't true.  You can actually walk anywhere with a duck on your head.  I'm not sure why you would, but you can.  So that law was/is not true.

No playing BINGO more than 2 days a week at a Nursing Home or Senior Center.  And if you were visiting someone in one of these facilities, you were restricted from playing BINGO with the residents.  That one was actually true!  But it was reversed in 2015.  I can't even believe that was an actual law.  Wow.

Ever been charged with public drunkenness?  Well, apparently you can be drunk anywhere you'd like.  You can't drive, obviously, but you can be drunk in public or otherwise.

As of 2010, Minnesota Statute # 340A.902 titled “Drunkenness Not A Crime” states that “No person may be charged with or convicted of the offense of drunkenness or public drunkenness.”

I'm sure everyone has heard the law in St. Cloud that you cannot eat a hamburger on a Sunday.  That one has not been debunked.  But I'm guessing that everyone, if you eat hamburgers, and you have been in St. Cloud,  has had one on a Sunday in St. Cloud at some point.  Uh OH!  What are they going to do?  And why would this be a law?  I'm guessing it has something to do with Catholic religion.  I could be wrong, but that would be my best guess.

You can see some of the other "laws" for Minnesota and some are just in some Minnesota towns.  Most of them seem really crazy.
