Easy Steps Minnesotans Can Take To Stay Healthy This Winter
We’ve had a nice stretch of good weather over the last few weeks, we’re wearing jackets in the morning and then carrying them out the door in the afternoon.
We all know that the cold weather is coming, and with that comes illnesses during the winter. Most everyone who is working needs to be able to work and missing days because you’re sick isn’t ideal, could eat into your summer vacation plans and could even have a negative impact on your paycheck.
Keeping yourself healthy is a challenge, but there could be a few simple things you could do to at least give yourself a fighting chance at staying healthy this winter, and those things come in the form of vitamins.
I’ve been taking vitamins for several years now, and I can attest that they’ve helped me. I spent some time looking online making sure what I’m taking is what I should be taking and here are the vitamins that were most suggested to be taken during the winter:
Vitamin D- The winter is a hard time of the year for some folks who miss the sunshine. Vitamin D is known as the Sunshine Vitamin and can help your mood during the winter, but it also helps our bones absorb calcium.
Vitamin C- Adding Vitamin C during the winter helps boost your immunity which is a strong weapon in fighting colds and flu. The stronger you can keep your body during this time, along with plenty of rest, can help hopefully minimize anything that would rise up against you.
Vitamin E- There are many assets from taking Vitamin E. Your skin can take a hit during the winter, and this helps. But there are other positive attributes that Vitamin E can bring for your health like helping with arthritis and aging among others.
Vitamin B- This is another vitamin that can impact your mood, but also have a positive impact on your brain, B-6 and B-12 are linked to helping with depression.
Vitamin K- Helps build proteins that lead to stronger bones and proper blood clotting.
Zinc- This is an important component to fighting off viruses and bacteria. But it also helps in healing if you suffer a wound. There are several other benefits from taking Zinc that could help you stay strong for the winter season that lies ahead.
You should talk with your doctor and do your own research about the steps you should take in protecting yourself.
