With the snowfall expected in St. Cloud today we will likely eclipse the all-time monthly snowfall record for any February here in the Granite City dating back to 1971.

The same record will likely fall today in the Twin Cities preciously set in 1962.

The old record in St. Cloud for a February was 21.6 inches in '71. Before today's snow, we're officially sitting at 16.1 inches at the St. Cloud Airport -- or 5.6" from setting a new record. (BTW, more snow is on the way this weekend, and again on Tuesday.)

As far as the Twin Cities are concerned, the NWS has February 2019 at 22.6 inches, or 3.9 inches behind 1962's record of 26.5 inches. That one will be crushed today too.
