You can celebrate June Dairy Month with a trip to  a real life working farm in princeton that has been around now for 5 proud generations. I had the pleasure of speaking with Kristin and Thomas Duden about this fun event that is happening in conjunction with the Princeton Rum River Festival 2021 this week. Saturday is going to be a super day to attend the event called "Food Trucks on the Farm!"

The event is going to start at 10 am on Saturday morning at the farm, Brickton Genetics, located at 9014 45th Street in Princeton.

Make sure that you grab the kids and come hungry! There will be five food trucks on hand to enjoy a variety of different foods and treats. The food trucks that will be at the event include:

  • Thai One On
  • RM BBQ
  • Kevin's Gyros
  • Phat Phil's Mini Doughnuts
  • Brain Freeze Ice Cream

MEET A REAL LIFE PRINCESS

Princess Kay of the Milky Way will be at the event too! Princess Kay serves as the Goodwill Ambassador for Minnesota Dairy Farmers. If you don't know Princess Kay, she's the one who gets her head carved in butter at the Minnesota State Fair. Lucky for us, we get the real Princess Kay, instead of a melting buttery Princess in our summer heat. (But if you've never seen the buttery creations...they are incredible).

DRIVE A COMBINE

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to drive one of those great big combines that you see all around our great state? Well...now you and your kids can get behind the wheel of a combine simulator, and get the experience of actually being a farmer working in the fields.

FREE EVENT

The event is free to attend, and will take place from 10 am until 2 pm.  Make sure you bring some funds to purchase your food. All proceeds will be going to the FFA Alumni Scholarship Fund.

LOOK: The most famous actress born the same year as you

Many of the actresses in this story not only made a name for themselves through their collection of iconic performances, but also through the selfless, philanthropic nature with which many of them approached their stardom. In an age of flipping the script on societal norms, many of these actresses are using their voices and platforms to be advocates for those who are otherwise unheard.
