It's just about summer, and that means that there will be all sorts of outdoor festivals, fairs, live music, outdoor patios and the such that will be occupied throughout the next few months in Minnesota.

To wrap up the summer, is when the Great Minnesota Get-Together will happen. Otherwise known as the Minnesota State Fair.  If you didn't buy your tickets in advance, or if you are not going on one of the discounted days throughout the fair, it can get a bit pricey when you have to pay full price.  Plus, all of the food you are probably going to consume, AND if you go to one or more of the shows in the Grandstand, you might even have to take out a second mortgage on your home.

That might be an exaggeration. But it is pretty expensive.

Here is some great news - there are a ton of live shows (900 to be exact) that are sprinkled throughout the fairgrounds.  You just have to pay attention to the day and time if you would like to take in one or more of these shows.  They are also all over the fairgrounds. All you need to do is grab a chair or a bench at your choice of bandshell and enjoy.  Plus, you can come and go as you wish.

This is just a few of the names coming to the fair to perform, for FREE!

There are so many more!  You can get more information on when, where and days that they will be performing through the State Fair website.  That is also where you will be able to buy advance tickets and check out the Kickoff to Summer event happening over Memorial Day weekend.  Plus, they have a deal where if you get some tickets for that Thursday or Friday, you can get a ticket to the main event (the State Fair) at the end of August.
