Have You Seen “Foleyland” in Foley Minnesota?
We get so busy in our day to day lives, that sometimes as the old saying goes, “we miss the forest for the trees”.
Meaning that we miss things that are all around us because we are looking right through them and not even realizing that they are there. If you’ve ever driven through Foley, you’ve likely driven through the intersection of Highway 25 and 23 and maybe noticed a collection of things on the side of the road.
My wife and I have driven by this location a couple of times and noticed that there was something there, but “missed the forest for the trees” for all that this site contains.
It’s called “Foleyland”, and the sign says you can see it from space. Maybe that explains some of the items on display there, there’s definitely an “alien” theme going on.
I love the fact the owner of this location has taken older items and found a way to repurpose them into something for people to enjoy. My wife and I prefer buying used furniture and she has a real talent for making what was old have new life again.
The items that are featured in “Foleyland” once served a greater purpose, most of them were used in helping people take care of their property or do their jobs.
This location has been around for about 15 years from what I’ve been able to gather. The imagination, vision and creativity of this site brings a collection of items that on their own, don’t have must use anymore.
But when put together and arranged as they are in “Foleytown”, the purpose they now serve is bringing smiles to people's faces. Could there be more some in the future, I guess you'll have to keep checking in from time to time to see.
