The first-pitch temp for Thursday's home opener is expected to be around 35 degrees. The coldest first-pitch temp ever recorded was in 1962 when the Twins hosted the Angels at Met Stadium -- when the mercury sat at 33 degrees.

Twins officials are shoveling out the stadium today, but fear not -- the field will be a beautiful shade of green, thanks to heaters that sit under the turf.

In addition to the cold temps, there is a 50% chance of snow showers during tomorrow's game.

The record for 'Coldest MLB Game Ever' belongs to the Colorado Rockies, when the game time temp for their match-up in Denver against the Atlanta Braves on April 23, 2013 was just 25°.

The first 30,000 fans through the Target Field gates tomorrow will receive a free Twins hoodie, but that probably won;t be enough to keep you warm. Only at a baseball game in Minnesota will you find fans wearing hats, mittens, and face masks.

I was at the home opener in 2013 when the first-pitch temp was 35°. The Majestic Twins Clubhouse Store at Target Field was selling lots of red & blue stocking caps.

Go Twins!
