This Former MN Corporate Office Building Now Looks Haunted
When mergers and acquisitions happen, things will eventually change. One recent change has left a corporate office building in an affluent suburb looking more like Disney's Haunted Mansion than it once did, a place where bankers, CEOs, and CFOs used to visit. Take a look at what this building now looks like.
From TCF to Huntington Bank
Well-known TCF Bank merged with Michigan-based Chemical Bank in 2019. Most of the TCF Bank staff had already moved to offices in Plymouth or Minnetonka, but there was still the corporate headquarters building in Wayzata. The building was a real beauty with ivy-covered brick, well-manicured garden beds, in a setting that more resembled a neighborhood than a business area.

In January of 2020, TCF officially listed the building for sale. Since then, it appears to have just sat empty, and a recent photo on X from a commercial real estate agent gives the impression that the building has seen better days, at least from the back of the building.

Plans For The Former Corporate Building?
Back in 2025, there was a redevelopment application submitted to the City of Wayzata for the property that sits on Lake Minnetonka. The City of Wayzata in May of 2025 approved a project to turn the massive two-block-long site into something that would be mixed-use.
