Midwestern Phrases No One Else Uses

This is my favorite... and I have definitely done this...

"can you really call yourself a midwesterner if you don't understand the struggle of hitting a pothole so hard you apologize to your car outloud?" 

Example: "Ope, Jeez, SORRY!"  Please note- no one else is in the car but you.

There are some other things that people say in the Midwest- but not in Minnesota. I have never heard anyone say "Expressway".  Have you?  They say that people in the Midwest don't say "Highway" or "Freeway".  BTW- that is ALL we say here.  Like straight up- all we say... and an occasional "Interstate".  But whatever. Maybe they are considering more than just Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa as the Midwest.  I feel like Ohio is a stretch. That is more getting to the East.  At least I think so.
