This pandemic.  To say that it has been rather trying is a huge understatement.  And for a few months, everything was shut-down.  When we were actually able to get back to bars and restaurants being open, and we could go out to eat and have a drink or two, people were pretty excited about that.

They were open, but it wasn't and still isn't back to normal.   There are restrictions that the Minnesota Health Department has put into place.  At first, I think everyone was doing their best to follow the guidelines.  As time progressed, people will instinctively push the envelope.  It is up to the bar/restaurant to make sure that they are "policing" these restrictions and making sure that they are followed.

This past week, there was a crackdown because of the increased positive tests that have come out in Minnesota.  There were 14 bars and restaurants that received warnings.  Many of them said that they weren't aware that they were not complying.  They thought they were up to code.  They have been given warnings this time.  If it happens again, they could receive a fine.

What has been happening, is people moving chairs and/or tables around so they can sit together in their "group".   The limit in a bar/restaurant needs to be kept at 50%.  Only 4 people to a table.  Up to 6 if they are from the same family.  Sometimes it can be tough to do, especially if you see people you know while you are out.  And now, with the mask mandates, you will be required to wear one into the restaurant, if you get up to go to the bathroom and when you walk out.  While you are seated and eating and/or drinking you will not be required to wear one.
