In Travel & Leisure's list of 15 Best Lake Towns in the U.S. Minnesota showed up...zero times.

Last week WalletHub released its list of best beach towns across the country. The list of 191 cities and towns was divided into two groups -- those on the ocean and those on a lake. Of the 46 lakefront towns recognized, only two were in Minnesota and even one of those was questionable -- Duluth and Eden Prairie (?). Eden Prairie ranked 14th overall and Duluth 15th overall. Needless to say, we were surprised more Minnesota towns didn't make the list and have been feeling a bit miffed since.

Well, Travel & Leisure just released their own list of 15 Best Lake Towns in the U.S. that only serves to rub salt in our still-fresh wounds. "This is a country chock-full of picturesque lakes, from the northeastern shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire and Rangeley Lake in Maine, all the way to the southern California shores of Big Bear Lake," writes Travel & Leisure's Maya Kachroo-Levine. So far so good. "We specifically wanted to hone in on the best lake towns in America as a way to help travelers pinpoint exactly where to book a week-long rental or a charming inn for their next lake vacation." T&L goes on to feature 15 towns located on some of "the country's clearest and most sought-after lakes" and boasting "bustling town centers and lively culture within." Apparently, Minnesota's plethora of notable lake towns don't have enough bustle or liveliness. Here's the list of 15 Best Lake Towns in the U.S according to T&L:

1. Wolfeboro, NH
2. Greensboro, GA
3. Bayview, ID
4. Aurora, NY
5. Bigfork, MT
6. Clermont, FL
7. South Lake Tahoe, CA
8. Lakeway, TX
9. Charlevoix, MI
10. White Lake, NC
11. Rangeley, ME
12. Osage Beach, MO
13. Chelan, WA
14. Vergennes, VT
15. Big Bear Lake, CA

We'd take the absence of any Minnesota towns on Travel & Leisure's list personally, but -- on the bright side -- at least there's more lake life for us to enjoy without having to share it!
