Minnesota is One of the States That Hates Mondays the Most
It's just another 'Manic Monday' in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. According to a report by Zippia (take that for what it's worth), Minnesota is one of the top five states in the country for hating Mondays.
This study was done based on Google searches and trends within state lines for things like:
- Jobs
- Coffee
- Why am I so tired
- Call in sick
Since searches for these types of terms tend to jump on Mondays, we determined these as the most “Monday” problems. From there, we averaged them together to find the crankiest, I-don’t-want-to-go-to-work, why-is-it-Monday-already states.
Based on 12 months worth of Google searches, Minnesota ranked at #5 on the list of the most Monday-hating states.
Here are the top 10:
- Idaho
- Montana
- Utah
- Oregon
- Minnesota
- Washington
- Colorado
- New Mexico
- Oklahoma
- Nebraska
I don't think Mondays are as bad as everyone thinks they are. They area fresh start on the week and we should be hopeful for everything a new week brings.
Like I mentioned above, take this study for what it's worth. This wasn't based on a survey of people deliberately asking if they like or dislike Mondays, it's based on Google search history of loosely related topics. Far from a definitive science, but still a fun anecdote to toss around at the water cooler.
