Minnesota and Paul Bunyan statues, the two go together like peanut butter and jelly. We also know that Minnesota has 6 big statues across the state, but it appears there will soon be a 7th statue, but the real question is where will it go up? Here's what we know about the newest Paul, coming to Minnesota.

The social media page, American Giants, posted about a big Paul Bunyan statue that had recently gone missing from an Arizona man's front yard. The missing Paul arrived in Arizona, via San Fransisco where he was outside a muffler shop for years. The muffler Paul Bunyan then was transported to Arizona to the yard of Don Parks, who is known for all the things he has on his front lawn. That was really just the beginning part of Paul's journey to Minnesota.

The website Roadside America talked with Don about the statue, and this is what he had to say:

"His Paul Bunyan Muffler Man had been on an interesting journey. Don bought him in 1969 from a gas station on Broadway St. in San Francisco, "near the strip joints." The statue's feet were broken off, so Don added concrete feet and a base.

He sold the Muffler Man to a Phoenix safety shoe store. After they went out of business, they apparently sold the statue to advertise the Lumberjack lumber store. That closed too, and Don managed to buy back his old friend. But somewhere along the way the cement shoes had been removed and proper fiberglass footwear restored. "He was in better shape than when I'd sold him.""

Once word got out that Paul was missing in Arizona, it didn't take long for a member of the group to discover that Paul was moved up here to the #BoldNorth, where he is currently undergoing some foot repair.

Once his feet are fixed up, it will just be a matter of time before he gets set up in his new home, somewhere in the Twin Cities.

The real question then becomes, where in the Twin Cities would he end up? Here are some of the guesses we've come up with.

  • Minnesota State Fairgrounds
  • Valleyfair
  • Mall of America
  • Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport
  • Stillwater

Where do you think the newest Paul Bunyan statue will end up? Let us know your guess through our app, and by all means if you KNOW where he is headed we'd love to know too.
