He also didn't make it to school that day either. That's when Coon Rapids Police started their search for him and asked the public for their help as well.

Around 5 p.m. on Thursday someone told investigators that they had seen a person  matching Tessman's description on the north end of the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park near 99th Avenue Northwest around 8 a.m. that morning.

Hundreds of commenters on social media expressed their concern for the boy.

Ronnette Kennedy Trulson wrote, "Shared in St. Cloud with prayers for Gavin to be back safely at home soon."

Rachel Minscer commented, "shared in Mankato, prayers going out that he's found safe."

Jennifer Wimpfheimer said, "Shared in Rochester. God, protect this child. Bring him home safely."
