Apparently, Minnesota Nice isn't nice enough.

Word came today that Minnesota - one of three locations bidding to host the 2023 World's Fair Expo - didn't even pass the first round of voting.

Instead, Argentina has been selected as the final site of the Expo. Had Minnesota won the bid, it would have been the first time in over 30 years that the States hosted a World's Fair or Expo. The expo bid, according to Minnesota's Expo 2023 bid website, was "Healthy People, Healthy Planet..."

to both highlight the importance of health and medicine at a global level and to spotlight Minnesota’s unique position as one of the world’s most important centers of excellence and innovation in health, healing, medical sciences and the promotion of wellness.

 

Well, we may not be hosting the World's Expo, but here are six events Minnesotan's can take pride in hosting:
