Perfect Time for Some Snow Shoveling Tips

We were not really prepared for this were we? Sure, the forecast said 3" to 5" inches. But we have heard many, many weather forecasts over the years that have had that "the sky is falling" approach. Plus, it's mid-October, right?

Sometimes, those forecasts are dead-on accurate. Sometimes, it's not nearly as bad as they thought it might possibly be. But you know the worst thing about that job and trying to predict the weather? Being wrong. And I mean wrong in "it is WAY worse than we thought" wrong.

Weather affects so many people's lives as it is but when it comes to them actually being alive, I would always err on the side of caution. It's one of those jobs I would never want. So I'm giving a special shout out to our meteorologists and weather people out there. I appreciate what you do -- your job is not easy.

Apologies, I got a little sidetracked there. Back to the subject at hand -- the awful thought of shoveling. At my age, it makes me cringe so much, I refuse to do it. So you should do what I did, make a baby (you'll need help there), and when they're old enough, stick a shovel in their hand and wish them luck.

Here are some great tips from The Spruce.com for shoveling your best and not over-exerting yourself. And that's really the key. My father died from shoveling snow, so be careful out there. The heavy, wet stuff is the worst. In the end, it's not worth it. Be late or miss work if you have to.
