Sartell-based band Guytano will take the stage as the opening act of the Basilica Block Party's second day of music on Saturday, August 3rd. The Basilica Block Party, held in Minneapolis, is back on for 2024 after taking 2022 and 2023 off following the pandemic.

Guytano consists of brothers Grant and Eddie Hamilton alongside Isaac Hesse and Colter Benoit. The group met in 2010 at Sartell Middle School and has been making music ever since.

Like most young bands, Guytano began as a cover band, mainly covering punk rock, before shifting to finding their own voice and playing songs crafted by Grant Hamilton.

Their debut album, "I Am Inside Our Body" was released in 2016. Songs from that album reached college and commercial radio and were also featured on TV shows like MTV's The Real World and Teen Mom 2.

Their latest single, "Mandy," was released in June 2024.

Guytano will open the block party's second day at 1:15 p.m.. Other acts on the bill that day include St. Paul and the Minneapolis Funk All Stars, Phillip Phillips, Judah and the Lion, Needtobreathe and Counting Crows.

Friday's performers will include Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray, Dean Lewis, Red Clay Strays, Yam Haus and Socktopus.

Unlike Basilica Block Parties of years past, the 2024 edition will not take place on church grounds and will instead be held at Boom Island Park.

One day passes for the festival start at $99, while two-day passes start at $169.
