Last week I wrote about a Side-by-Side Model that had been recalled that could be sitting in your garage, barn or on your property that you might need to know about. Well, there’s been another one from a different manufacturer.

If you are one of the Minnesotans who loves to get outside and enjoy all our state has to offer “off-road”, be aware that Kawasaki has placed a recall on 2024 Mule Pro 1000 Off-Highway Utility Vehicles.

The problem comes when the driver goes to start the vehicle, there have been combustion problems that could start a fire.

There are three models highlighted in this recall which include:

The Pro FX 1000, the Pro FXR 1000, and the Pro FXT 1000 are the models that are said to have the issues. The assembly dates range between May 9th and May 23rd, 2023.

The models in question were sold in these colors: Metallic Sierra Blue, Metallic Onyx Black, Firecracker Red, Ice Gray, Truetimber Strata, Metallic Titanium and Metallic Stardust White.

The VIN number on each of these models is printed on the forward rail underneath the seat. Each model also has its model name and model code printed on the owner's manual.

The Consumer Safety Product Commission says anyone owning this model is strongly urged to stop using the vehicle immediately and contact their Kawasaki dealer. A technician will re-program the vehicles ECU and then install a sub-harness on the vehicle.

To this point, Kawasaki has reported three fires and thankfully no one was injured in those incidents. The company says they sold over 19,000 of these models between June of 2023 and April of 2024. These models cost between $15,000 and $22,000.
