Local Parks Director To Be Featured on CBS Sunday Morning
Here’s something really exciting to look forward to this weekend. Our own Parks Director, Gina Hugo, will be featured on the CBS Sunday Morning Show this Sunday between 7 and 8 a.m.
She’ll be sharing the story of the 'heart+land interpretive trail' at Two Inlets, located at Bdé Heḣáka - Omashkooz Zaaga’igaans Regional Park.
GINA HUGO TO BE FEATURED THIS SUNDAY
Gina will be joined by artist Lindsay Buck, and together they’ll talk about how this one-of-a-kind trail came to life.

THE HEART + LAND PROJECT
The heart+land project is something truly special as it brings together the historical and cultural stories of the plants, animals, and people who have lived and thrived in this landscape for generations. It’s a celebration of how everything in nature is connected and how those connections continue to shape the world around us today.
HAVE YOU WALKED THE TRAIL?
Those who have walked this trail already know how peaceful and meaningful it feels. It’s more than just a path through the park to them. Each stop along the way tells a story. The art, the interpretive signs, and the natural surroundings all work together to remind us that this land holds memories and lessons worth cherishing.
For Gina and Lindsay, this project has always been about connection. Connection to the land, connection to history, and connection to each other. They’ve poured their hearts into creating something that encourages visitors to slow down, listen, and appreciate the beauty and wisdom that nature offers.
