It’s Almost Harvest Time At The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
It’s almost harvest time around Central Minnesota, that is if you have a field to harvest something in. If you don’t, you’re not being left out. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is holding their annual Field Fest on September 6th from 10am to 3pm.
This family friendly event will give you the chance to bring your kids out and let them get their hands dirty like so many others around Minnesota. Field Fest offers hands on harvesting of sugar beets, corn and potatoes.
There will be much more to do than just dig in the dirt for the harvest, there will be food trucks, a beer garden, live entertainment and activities for all ages.

Visitors will be allowed to tour the crop plots and orchards at the facility. There will also be interactive games, exhibits and hands on activities where you can learn directly from Minnesota food producers and growers. These will be held in the KWS Tent.
Other events that you can participate in include:
The beet weighing contest,
Make bouquets from flowers that you can grow at home
Learn more about the flower cutting industry
Learn how sugar beets move from seed to sugar to your store
Learn more about Ag Careers with the virtual reality Learning Lab Trailer
Tastings of the harvested food in the kitchen
Rootstock pop-up will be selling harvested foods in the Summer Kitchen
There will also be a new event added to this year's Field Fest activities, the Celebrity Baking Showcase with Minnesota's own Zoe Francois who will also be holding a book signing while she is there as well.
