Things are beginning to slowly come back and start to reopen in  Minnesota.

The Science Museum of Minnesota and the Omni Theatre have announced their plans to reopen.  These are two of my favorite things to do in Minnesota.   When I was a kid, it was so cool to go to the Science Museum and experience all that was there. There are some  interactive activities along with a lot of just visual exhibits.  But still, so worth it.  And it doesn't matter if you are an actual kid or just a kid at heart, you will find something that interests you at the Science Museum.

Another highlight is the Omni Theatre.  This is basically an IMAX type of theatre, but the screen goes all around the room.  So, the visual and interactive feeling is right there.  Some of the thrilling viewing is there. It's almost like a virtual ride that you would find at like a Disney park or something.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, and the Minnesota shut down, the Science Museum and Omni theatre has been closed.  They have just announced their plan to reopen.  They are planning a phased reopening plan.  If you  are a member of the museum, you will get some earlier entry opportunities in the last couple of weeks of August.  If you don't have a membership, you will need to wait until September 4-6 when the museum opens to the general public.

The Omni Theatre will be opening with the rest of the museum.  But in order to allow for social distancing and other COVID protocols, there will be fewer showings and also time in between to allow for cleaning and sanitizing.  The first show at the Omni will be Ancient Caves.  This had premiered right before the shut down.

So, if you are looking for something to do with the family for the beginning part of September, check out this great, educational family activity.
