There was a petition about changing Halloween from the 31st to the last Saturday of the month. A lot of people were in favor of it. The petition received more than 150,000 signatures. I thought it was a great idea.

But it doesn't look like this is going to happen so the petition as shifted gears. Keep Halloween on the 31st but make the last Saturday of October National Trick Or Treat Day.

There's a lot of reason why this is a good move. It wouldn't effect school or work days and it would make the holiday safer for children. And that's really the important thing here.

Children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween.

Will this actually happen? I doubt it but I think it's a good idea. And it's a win/win. People that want Halloween on the 31st for tradition sake get to keep that and those that want safer and more convenient trick or treating for the kids get that.

If it sounds good to you, sign the petition and let's get this up to a million.
