High five to Target doing what they can to keep their community and team members safe.

St. Cloud Target locations have made the decision to close their stores at 7 PM on Monday, June 1st out of an abundance of safety. Natalie Moen, a Target Team Leader at the east side location sent me a message saying:

Our stores are closing at 7 tonight in Saint Cloud out of abundance of safety and precaution for the community and team. Going forward the situation will be fluid but this is just the situation for tonight.

The Twin Cities based chain has had to make operational hour adjustments to over 200 stores across the country to keep shoppers and employees safe. The Uptown location in Minneapolis is currently closed until further notice.

Brian Cornell, the CEO of Target did issue a statement over a weekend after the Lake Street location was looted last week.

It’s hard to see now, but the day will come for healing—and our team will join our hearts, hands and resources in that journey. Even now, Target leaders are assembling community members, partners and local officials to help identify what more we can do together and what resources are required to help families, starting right here in Minnesota.
