My Favorite Holes at Boulder Ridge in St. Cloud
I love golf, I just wish I was better at it. But that seems to be the mantra for many golfers. Sometimes you need a quick nine to work on the game which is why Boulder Ridge is perfect for me. Plus, it's close to my house.
Since I need a lot of work on my game, I try to get to Boulder as much as possible, which means I've golfed there a lot this year. Here are my favorite holes:
Hole 1 (Par 5)
Boulder Ridge starts with a Par 5 and it's the second-longest hole on the course. An easy hole for experienced golfers, and a perfect starting hole for us less experienced.
There's a slight curve to the right just before you get to the hole, but it's pretty much a straight shot.
If you miss, it's best to miss just in front or just past the hole. There are trees on the left that are not too far off the green as well as a couple of bunkers to the right of the hole.
Hole 2 (Par 4)
The wetlands, on your left, is your big concern here. But that tree line along the right side is where I usually end up.
No bunkers await you at this green, which is always nice.
Hole 3 (Par 4)
Just like the first two holes, I don't get into too much trouble when I slice it. And recovering from one isn't that bad. Except when the ball comes to a stop behind a tree.
There's plenty of room around the green and no bunkers. Just don't overshoot it.
Hole 7 (Par 5)
The longest hole on the at 525 yards also happens to be my favorite.
Sure, there's a bunker on each side of the green (which I've hit out of a few times) but I've landed on the green a couple of times from about 200 yards out. That's always a good feeling.
