The St. Cloud Rotary Club has made the hard decision to cancel Summertime By George for the 2020 season.

In a post to their Facebook page, they stated the decision was made by following the guidelines of the CDC and from consultation with officials at the City of St. Cloud, Stearns County Public Health, and CentraCare.

Troy Fritz, a Summertime by George executive committee member made a statement:

With all the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, we feel this is the best decision for the health and safety of our community members, band members, vendors and our own club volunteers. Of course, this is very painful and sad for our club members.  We know how much the greater St. Cloud community looks forward to spending Wednesday nights each summer with us at Lake George. However, there are simply too many unknown factors surrounding the expected spread of the virus in Minnesota in the coming months.

The 2020 season was going to be the 10th anniversary of the event, and a wonderful lineup was planned, but organizers look forward to the event happening in 2021.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, the same is true for this wonderful event in St. Cloud. Can't wait for 2021 when we can celebrate the 10th anniversary in a big way!
