Teacher Of The Month: Jen Piepgras, Foley High School

Congratulations to our newest Teacher of the Month, Jen Piepgras of Foley High School! Ms. Piepgras is a physical education teacher and the organizer of Foley's Unified Club and was nominated by Angela K:

Jen is a wonderful and positive inspirational teacher. Whenever you see Jen she always has a smile on her face which is contagious and instantly puts a smile on your face as well. She sees the good and positives in each and every student as well as their individual talents.

 

Jen is one of the most caring people I know. She has a passion to find kids who may not be fitting in and includes them which in turn makes them feel good and realize they do fit in. Jen is also one of the lead people who heads up our Unified Club at Foley High School. Our Unified Club is made up of gen Ed students and students with disabilities working together and promoting Foley High School an inclusive school. Last year Jen organized a Polar Plunge with Special Olympics of Minnesota along with our Unified Club and we raised around $7,000. It was so great to see our school and our community come together and raise money for the Special Olympics of Minnesota.
Jen was also our head swim team coach for many years. She has bestowed core values in those athletes that she coached, so much so that after she was done coaching past graduated swim team members have come back and taken on the roll of being the head swim team coaches. The caring family network that our Foley Swim Team still has was all started by Jen and her fellow coaches.

 

I have the pleasure of working with Jen at Foley High School. I'm an Educational Assistant here at Foley. So I get to see first hand all the wonderful things and accomplishments that Jen is or has made here at Foley High School. Jen has also taught both my son and daughter in different physical education classes they were in and my daughter was on the swim team for sometime as well.

Our winning teacher receives prizes from Coyote Moon Grille, True's Pizza, Farmers and Merchants State Bank and St. Cloud Floral, along with a custom tumbler and a plaque from All Star Trophy and Awards.
