Teacher of the Week: Heather Schreder at Sauk Rapids-Rice
Congratulations to this week's recipient of the Teacher of the Week award: Heather Schreder
Heather Schreder is an Art teacher at Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School. It was the first time we've ever presented the Teacher of the Week in front of -- nobody. Except for Heather, her husband Chris, and a couple of staff members, it was a completely empty classroom. It was very strange.
Heather was nominated by her husband. Here is the nomination letter Chris sent us:
This is my wife’s third year working at Sauk Rapids Middle School. Heather absolutely loves working there because she enjoys helping and watching her students succeed, no matter what.
In the fall of 2019, Heather and I found out that we were having triplets. We had some complications throughout the pregnancy and two of the babies passed away four months in. But through this rough and very difficult time for Heather, she continued to be an amazing art teacher at Sauk Rapids both towards her students and the other members of the faculty -- like nothing happened.
Heather spends takes the extra time, every day, to make sure her students get the help they need and deserve. Heather is not only an amazing art teacher but also a wonderful human being that puts her students first over anything. - Chris Schreder
Each 'Teacher of the Week' recipient receives gift certificates from Great Harvest Bread Company, Sunday Brunch from Coyote Moon Grille, Morph Salon & Barbershop, a special teacher bouquet from St Cloud Floral, and a plaque from All-Star Trophy and Awards. A big thanks to Mathnasium of St. Cloud for also sponsoring our "Teacher of the Week."
Nobody knows what this school year will continue to be like. But one thing we know is that we want to continue to recognize teachers in Central Minnesota, no matter how we have to do it. We have been and continue to be ready to adjust to whatever situation presents itself.
If you know a teacher that should be recognized, tell us all about them here.
