It's a big world with a ton of oddly talented people in it. How often has Minnesota been in the Guinness Book of World Records? A few times actually. Here are some of them!

There's a "world record" for just about everything, and as kids we all wanted to set a world record for something at one point. Unfortunately most of us won't have our name in that massive book.

You may have set a world record for something at some point in your life, but unless you called in a "Guinness World Records adjudicator", it was never an official record and didn't make it in the book.

Some Minnesotans HAVE made their name in the record books, a few times, and they're for some very odd achievements too! Here are just a few of them, courtesy of NewsCastic:

2012 - WORLD'S LARGEST BACON CHEESEBURGER
This massive burger was cooked and put together at Black Bear Casino in Carlton, Minnesota. It weighed just over a ton and was 10 feet wide. Not sure if it was ever eaten, but given how much time it likely took to put together - it probably didn't taste great.

2013 - THE MOST PEOPLE HOWLING TOGETHER
St. Cloud State University is the home of the "Huskies", so it was fitting to set this world record. 296 Huskie fans gathered together at Atwood Mall to simultaneously howl together to set this world record. The record was beat this year at the Bedfordshire scream park in the UK, with 464 people howling. St. Cloud WILL be taking this record back.

2010 - LARGEST GATHERING OF MUSTACHES IN ONE PLACE
Tom Selleck is likely proud of this world record. The gathering happened on the ice during a Minnesota Wild hockey game at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, setting the world record with 1131 mustached people.

2013 - LONGEST CONSECUTIVE BELL RINGING BY 1 PERSON
During the Christmas season, the Salvation Army has bell ringers everywhere. This record took place in Albert Lea, Minnesota, where Captain Jim Brickson rang a bell from December 3, 2013 at 11am through December 6, 2013 at 7pm.

1950 - LARGEST BALL OF TWINE IN THE WORLD
The central Minnesota town of Darwin displays this world record proudly inside a gazebo in town. It was created by Francis Johnson who spent 4 hours a day on it for a whopping 29 years!

These are just a handful of records set by Minnesotans, and we hope to see many more. If you want to attempt getting in the Guinness Book of World Records, here's the steps you need to take.
