Tips For Bringing Kids To Target Field In Minneapolis: Five Things To Know
Last weekend the Twins gave away a bobblehead of my son's favorite player, Jhoan Duran. So, we packed up our family of four and headed to Minneapolis for some baseball!
Here are some tips we can share after our visit:
1. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND WATER
You can bring whatever food you want to eat into Target Field... and you don't even have to be sneaky! As long as the food is in a soft container (no lunchboxes or tupperware), you can bring it in! We brought fruits, chips, peanuts, seeds and even peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
You can also bring unopened bottles of water into the stadium as well!
2. KNOW THE BAG POLICY
With all that being said, the bag policy at Target Field is pretty strict, limiting bags to 16" x 16" single-opening bags. We found a reusable grocery tote did the job just fine. In years past you could bring in a full, multi-pocketed diaper bag but that is no longer the case.
3. STROLLER POLICY HAS CHANGED
When my older son was a baby in 2018 we could bring his full stroller into the stadium and the team had a nice office-type space to tag and store them throughout the game. That is no longer the case, and now strollers will need to be collapsed and left unattended at the bottom of your section.
4. PLENTY OF FUN FOR KIDS
In addition to watching the game itself, kids can enjoy a playground in left field on the 200 level and there are a ton of things for kids to do in the right field gate area like mini golf, cornhole and giant connect four games.
5. PARK IN THE RAMP/SKYWAY
We were able to let our littlest guy run wild in the mostly empty skyway as opposed to having to help him cross several downtown streets!
