The Minnesota Twins' improbable comeback season ended last night in an 8-4 loss at the hands of the New York Yankees. After losing 103 games last year, the Twins became MLB's first team to make the postseason following a 100-loss season.

The Twins jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning -- only to see the Yankees score 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the first. Neither staring pitched lasted beyond the second inning.

The Yankees never looked back -- and the Twins never recovered.

With the win, the Yankees advance to the ALDS against the Indians, with Game One tomorrow night in Cleveland.

With the loss the Twins can still feel good about improving from 59 wins last season, to 85 wins this season -- still looking to improve in the future.

Next distraction! (The Wild start the regular season tomorrow night in Detroit.)
