Highway 10 Detour Lifted But Construction Zone Still Ahead
The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced late last week they have lifted the detour on Highway 10 in Wadena. Even with the detour being lifted, Highway 10 will remain a construction work zone until November 10th between Highway 71 in Wadena and 620th Street near Bluffton.
During this time, motorists can expect narrow lanes, no shoulders and lane shifts. You are urged to watch out for workers, construction equipment and of course other motorists as well.

During the shoulder closures, there will be slowing moving trucks near Oink Joint Road as off road continues on the East end of the project area.
There's Still Construction Going On In That Area
The road work on Highway 71 continues to the North end of the project zone and will be closed to through traffic from Highway 10 to Leaf River Road until Mid-October. Motorists needing to travel in this area will need to take Highway 10 to Wadena County Road to Leaf River Road.
There will also be a temporary all-way stop at County Road 20 and Juniper Road that drivers will need to keep an eye out for.
Wadena will be open for business during this work but there will be changes throughout the construction zone while the work is being done. During the work, there will be hard closures, and alternate access areas at times so it is very important that motorists pay attention to the construction signs and make sure you stay out of barricaded areas.
This work will be paused in October and is expected to finally be completed next August offering drivers a safer and smoother roadway through Wadena.
