The National Weather Service is saying that a significant winter storm is possible for central Minnesota this weekend. As of this afternoon the message from the NWS is that there is a 'very high' risk of heavy snow for our area.

This storm system will likely bring heavy snow for much of central and western Minnesota. Keep watching the weather forecasts for the latest updates, especially if you have travel plans this weekend.

National Weather Service

From the National Weather Service this afternoon: Our break from seeing accumulating snow looks to come to an end this weekend, possibly in a big way. Confidence is high we will see a major winter storm across the upper Mississippi Valley this weekend, though confidence in the exact track of the storm and its associated swath of heavy snow is considerably lower and will likely shift some in the coming days.
