This evening's commute will likely be a mess. Wednesday morning's drive could be sketchy as well. Plan on slippery roads today, and allow extra time for any travel.

Snow will end overnight, with sunny and dry conditions expected Wednesday as the system departs the area

From the National Weather Service this afternoon: Heavier precipitation will spread north from southwest Minnesota across east central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin later this afternoon. Snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches appear likely for portions of south Central Minnesota, Twin Cities metro, and northwest Wisconsin. Expected amounts have decreased slightly to account for a longer period of freezing rain across the southeastern Twin Cities metro. Stay tuned for forecast updates.
