The lottery says they’ve have been committed for a long time to supporting the ENRTF or the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. Funds from this effort have supported many efforts including the 2010 BP Oil Spill that had on loons and pelicans.  

Lottery officials also point out that monies from the ENRTF have been used to make The Natural Loon Center in Cross Lake a reality. 4 million dollars from that fund has been used to help fund this 15,000 square foot project that will open later this year. Visitors will be able to see up close how and where the loons live. 

Since 1990, the Minnesota Lottery says that 1.15 billion dollars has gone to fund environmental projects around the state.
