The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources took to their “X" account to promote the opportunity that Minnesotans have to vote for these two attractions.

The first is Gooseberry Falls in Two Harbors Minnesota. This picturesque site is positioned along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Gooseberry Falls features five waterfalls that flow across volcanic rock that sticks up out of the earth.

There are 18 miles of trails that attract hikers to make their way along the aspen, spruce and pine lined trails. Bikers will enjoy the eight-mile bike trails in the area as well.

Gooseberry Falls is also perfect for photographers who want to capture beautiful pictures of the waterfalls, or the wildlife that calls that area home.

There are black bears, otters, and over 225 birds including bald eagles that frequent this area.

The second location is Devil’s Kettle Trail and Waterfall in Cook County near Grand Marias.   The trail totals just under two miles going in and then back out again.  Devil’s Kettle is inside the Judge C.R. Magney State Park. The trails take you along the Brule River that run past the Upper Falls which is also a perfect setting for photographers and hikers alike.

The USA Today 10 Best provides travel reviews and assists in planning your next vacation. You can vote for each of the locations above 1 time each day through March 11th.
