My wife and I have had a printer for nearly 20 years, and sometimes we’ll go long stretches of time without using it, and then other times we use ours every day.

So, with the above things in mind, we should be aware of a popular brand of printers that are now under recall. Lexmark has been a popular choice for home and work settings for a number of years, but they have now placed popular some models of their printers into the category of the ones who need immediate attention.

The Lexmark MS725advn and MX725adve specialty printers have a potential fire hazard that owners need to know about. The problem lies with a piece of equipment that could start a fire within the printer.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says that a piece of metal inside the printer can dislodge and potentially create a fire. There has been one report of a fire thus far, and in this case and one other that has been reported, these printers can overheat which could lead to a fire.

These Lexmark printers will have the model numbers on the top of the unit as well as the door of the printer. The printers in question will have LEXMARK in black with the green company logo. These printers will have a white front and black top and sides.

If you own one of these printers, you are urged to stop using it immediately and contact Lexmark for the replacement part which snaps into the back access panel.
