
Safety Alert On Popular Curling Iron After Multiple Incidents
A popular curling iron has just been recalled because of nearly 260 complaints that the iron can detach apart and cause the potential for burns to the user. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says that 258 people say their Bio Ionic curling iron did come apart while they were using it, and 6 of those received minor burns.
These Bio Ionic curling irons were sold online at amazon and on the Bio Ionic website as well as popular stores like Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, Salon Centric and at salons around the country. There were over 357,000 of these curling irons sold in the United States and another 3,000 plus in Canada.

These curling irons were sold between August of 2022 and July of 2024 and had a price tag of around $165.
The recalled curling irons have a one-inch barrel with the model number LXT-CL-1.0 with a date code of 0722 and 1223. The barrel and the handle are both black and measures 15.8 inches long, 2.87 inches high, 1.65 inches wide and weighs about 15 ounces.
The model number can be found on the rating label which is located on the handle of the curling iron.
If you own one of these curling irons, you are asked to stop using it immediately and then contact Bio Ionic to register for a free replacement curling iron. Owners of this product will be asked to cut off the plug and return that to the recalling firm using a pre-paid shipping label.
