My kids love watching Netflix, but I would say for the most part, the things my kids watch are for entertainment purposes mostly.

The other day I was talking with my friend Sarah, and she informed me that Netflix is came out with a educational series that is available for kids to watch. That caught my attention. A fun show that serves a greater purpose, yes please.

This was news to me, and  I was pleasantly surprised. Like the books, it's most appropriate for upper elementary, but you can make that call depending on your students' needs, abilities, and interests. I have a four year old boy, Wyatt and a 8 year old girl, Harper that I think would be very interested in these historical figures.

The Who Was Show biography series is on Netflix. I am actually a bit surprised I just found out about this now. Season one was debuted on Netflix back in 2018. The first season includes 13 episodes, each less than 30 minutes, with a focus on two historical figures per episode

  • Amelia Earhart
  •  Benjamin Franklin
  •  Sacagawea
  •  Susan B. Anthony
  • Bruce Lee
  •  Louis Armstrong
  •  George Washington Carver

That’s just to list a few. Fresh voices bring some of the most famous names in history to life. A live-action sketch comedy show based on the series of best-selling books. Check it out for yourself.
