Can Minnesotan’s Feel Sleepier Before Storms?
The weather yesterday was interesting for sure. There’s no doubt it was scary with the potential force some of the storms had with them.

Weather like we had yesterday caused people who don’t pay a lot of attention to the weather on a normal basis to keep a close eye on what was going on.
When you think back to yesterday, did you find yourself feeling more tired than normal? I mean it was Monday after all, feeling tired comes with the territory.
But, if you think back to yesterday, did you find yourself dragging around? If you did, it may not have had anything to do with how you slept or how active you were over the weekend.
The Minnesota Red Cross posted a message on “X” or Twitter yesterday data from The Mayo Clinic that said the storms moving across the area could have impacted that fact you were feeling sleepy.
Their post said that before storms you can feel sleepier than normal because the barometric pressure drops when the front comes through, this can cause blood vessels in your body to expand, and your oxygen levels will shift, and your melatonin levels will increase causing you to feel sleepy.
We often hear people say they can feel when it is going to rain or snow because of certain pains they have in their bodies, now we know that Mother Nature could work against us when she blows a storm up on us too.
It may pay us to keep some extra caffeine handy the next strong storms blow across Central Minnesota.
