Car Damaged by Potholes-Could Be Reimbursed by MNDOT
Potholes- you know that they are going to be there after winter. It's like we have 3 seasons in Minnesota. There's Winter, there's construction and there's pothole season. Usually this happens in the Spring... like now.
Generally you can see them coming and avoid. But sometimes there is no avoiding those annoying holes in the road. And sometimes they are HUGE! And sometimes they also do some serious damage to your vehicle.
If you are like me, you see that there are generally the same potholes in the same areas on the road year after year. They will be filled and temporarily fixed until the next year. They are usually not really fixed. Some of them are so bad that the road should really be re-done. Cooper Avenue in St. Cloud, I'm looking right at you!
Anyway, if you have hit a pot hole and it has damaged your vehicle, you could be eligible for some reimbursement. There are some restrictions to that, however. Like of course there are.
It also depends on the road. Like if it's a state highway, MNDOT will take care of it. But if it's a city road, you will need to go to the city and place your claim. And honestly, most of the potholes are within city limits, so there's that.
But seriously, can we get some help on Cooper Avenue?? Please?? Thank you!
