POLL: Which Monument Would You Prefer in South St. Cloud?
Roundabouts. Some people love them, some people don't, and some others have absolutely no idea as to how they are to be navigated. I drive through a roundabout every single day, and there are always people who seem to be completely confused as to how they are supposed to work.
ROUNDABOUTS - SOME PEOPLE LOVE THEM SOME PEOPLE DON'T
Quick rundown - look to your left when approaching a roundabout. If there is no one already in the roundabout, go ahead and go. If there is someone there, you must stop to yield to that driver, then proceed. If you are already driving in the roundabout - there IS NO STOPPING! That's a great way to get rear-ended. Keep moving.
LET'S TALK ABOUT THE ROUNDABOUT ON COOPER AND 33RD STREET
With all of that said, the subject now is the roundabout that has been built on Cooper Avenue and 33rd street in South St. Cloud. The city is planning to put a monument on that site to reflect St. Cloud's granite heritage.
I know that there will be people who say that it will obstruct their sight line to see if anyone is coming around the corner in the roundabout. Pro-tip - if you cannot see anyone, you have time to move into the roundabout and go about your business.
YOU HAVE A VOICE IN WHICH MONUMENT WILL BE BUILT THERE
If you would like to have a say in which of the three monuments will be possibly erected in the middle of the roundabout. Check out the link here and make your choice known.
It's a nice look to have some of these things put in around town instead of just flowers or plants which generally have to be replanted each year.
