Home Carbonation Bottles Recalled For Exploding During Use
There has been a recalled item that could be sitting in your home right now, and you may not realize it. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that Drinkmate, who makes Soda Makers for home use and the carbonation bottles that come with them, has recalled their 1-liter bottles after a few people were injured.
The report says that the bottles exploded during use and thus far eight people have been hurt with either cuts, impact injuries or hearing damage.
Over 106,000 of these bottles were sold in the United States through popular online websites like amazon.com, walmart.com, target.com, homedepot.com and idrinkproducts.com. An additional 5,000 of the bottles were sold in Canada.

The bottles in question have clear polyethylene terephthalate body and cap with base colors or red, blue, white and black plastic. The bottles have expiration dates between January through October 2026 and are printed on the side of the bottles . These are the only bottles involved in this Drinkmate recall.
If you have one of these bottles, you urged to stop using it immediately and contact Drinkmate for a replacement bottle that will be safer to use. There is a replacement form that you will need to fill out and upload a photo of the bottle with the word “recall” printed on it. Consumers will need to properly dispose of the bottle once the paperwork has been completed.
The link for the recall information can be found here.
These bottles were sold individually as well in some of the Drinkmate Omnifizz starter kits.
