I didn't think it would happen this soon, but I'm getting my COVID-19 vaccination this week.

I had a coworker share a link to a survey, which is basically how you sign up to be eligible for a vaccine.

This vaccine interest survey is for Benton County residents or those who are working in Benton County. ANYONE who lives or works in Benton County is welcome to fill out the vaccine interest survey. This interest survey will be used to send out vaccine registration information when vaccine is available. We typically get vaccine weekly. This does not register you for an appointment.

I filled out the simple survey which asked for basic information like my name, age, and occupation. It took about a minute, and within a couple of hours, I was emailed by Benton County Public Health with a link to set up my vaccination appointment at the Sauk Rapids Government Center.

For your reference on how easy it was to set up, I'm terrified of setting up medical-related appointments and this couldn't have been easier. You fill in the blanks, pick the time you want to get your shot, and they email you a confirmation of everything. The cherry on top is that they are offering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine so I don't have to go through the process again.

Everyone has their own beliefs and situations as to whether or not they wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. I'm not here to tell you to get it or not to get it (radio school and medical school are two very different things), but I just wanted to share that if you are living or working in Benton County, it is available to you. Also, thank a public health worker when you get a chance.

Here is the link to the survey if you are interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
