New year, new month, new cake at Jule's Bistro for a new cause!

Jule's Bistro in downtown St. Cloud just announced their new cake for a cause. Last October, Jule's Bistro launched their C.A.K.E. campaign, or Culinary Acts of Kindness Encouraged. Each month, the bistro partners with a local charity, organization or non-profit to create a special cake with proceeds going back to that cause. December's cake was a chocolate gingerbread cake with cranberry-orange spiced curd, cranberry pastry cream and chocolate ganache, topped with dried oranges, fresh cranberries and cranberry/orange/ginger chocolate bark which saw proceeds going to support Pathways 4 Youth -- a St. Cloud-based youth resource center for youth ages 16 through 24 experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

January's cause of choice is the Tri-County Humane Society, and the cake of the month is a delicious peanut butter bourbon with peanut buttercream, dark chocolate ganache, candied bacon and crushed peanuts! The Tri-County Humane Society became incorporated on December 11, 1974 as a non-profit organization to care for homeless pets and to promote the humane care and treatment of animals. It opened its first shelter in 1975. Last year, it opened its brand-new shelter at 735 8th St NE, St Cloud, MN 56304. In 2019, the Tri-County Humane Society fostered 1,161 animals, placed 3,668 animals, spayed/neutered 2,214 animals and performed 2,350 surgeries (numbers for 2020 are yet to be updated at the website as of this writing).

When you purchase a $20 slice of this January's C.A.K.E. cake, $13 go back to support the Tri-County Humane Society. You can also purchase a whole kindness cake for $136, providing over $83 in support! When you order a whole cake, Jule's Bistro will even include a specially-formulated, vet-approved, made-from-scratch cupcake for your furry family member, too!
