The Mid-West Ski Otters, based in White Bear Lake competed in the National Show Ski Association event held in Janesville Wisconsin over the weekend and the Otters represented our area very well and brought home some impressive hardware.  

 

The competition featured several classes that the group competed in. The bigger awards the group claimed were the Male MVP of all the male competitors at the event, by Dan Laughlin. The Ski Otters also won top honors in the Synchro Skit Team won the best comedy routine in the tournament as well.

In addition to those top awards, the Ski Otters brought home second place honors in the Team Jump Category and Otter Caroline Grubs won second place in the swivel competition.  

Ryan Hoops and Sarah Yost took second place in the Strap Doubles competitions, while Evan Marcus finished 6th in the Nationals Freestyle Jump and 9th in the World Freestyle Jump competition.  

For the overall awards, The Mid-West Ski Otters brought home an 8th place finish. The group will be celebrating their showing from this past weekend at this Sunday’s performance which will be held at Little Goose Lake in White Bear Lake. Show time is at 6pm and their shows are free. 

You’ll see over 150 performers amazing performances such as human pyramids, freestyle jumps, swivel champions and barefoot experts. This is a great evening of family fun and an awesome way to wrap up the weekend.
