Capture Minnesota: Submit Photos For Airport Directory Cover

Attention photo enthusiast, here is an opportunity to have a photo of yours featured in a state publication. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is looking for those that are into photography, aviation or both to submit photos that could end up on the cover of the 2026 Minnesota Airport Directory and Travel Guide.

The vibe the Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Office is going for is an awesome photo from a plane or a great picture of a plane here in Minnesota. Your picture could even be something really neat at an airport around the state.

The Airport Directory and Travel Guides are on display at public airports around the state and they provide important information about each airport and the essential services that each offer. The guides will also contain information on attractions around the area so that visitors can better connect to things that interest them.

Visitors will be able to pick up a paper copy of the book, or the information has also been put into a mobile app, so the contents are available right on someone’s phone.

If you would like to submit a photo, here are the required specs for each photo that you want to submit;

If your picture was taken in portrait mode, it should be 6 megapixels

If the selected photo was taken in landscape mode, it should be 12 megapixels

The deadline to submit your photos is September 30th. You can send the pictures you would like to be considered to airportoperations.dot@state.mn.us. By submitting your photo, you are releasing the state to use your pictures in the publications and app without any further authorization or compensation.

All photos submitted must be taken in Minnesota.
