There are a few things I have learned about Minnesotans since moving here a year and a half ago. First, Minnesotan’s are really some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Minnesota nice, yeah, yeah I’ve heard that one already.

But I think it’s true that there’s a large group of people of are genuine and true and will step up to help their fellow Minnesotan.

Secondly, the love for the state. Even in the coldest of winters, people here still are dedicated to being residents of Minnesota.

Third, a good number of people really care about the wildlife here. Of course, there are those who hunt and fish, but they also care about making sure that habitats are where they need to be for future hunters and anglers.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says there are hundreds of wildlife species that fall into the at-risk category and need their habitats protected.

The DNR is asking Minnesotans to donate to help make sure that at-risk wildlife have a future here by supporting the Non-Game Wildlife Program.

Since it is tax season, you can have a portion, or all your tax refund donated to the cause. Get more details by clicking here.

You can donate on their website. You will have the choice to donate one time or set up reoccurring donations.

If you would rather mail in a donation, send that to:

DNR Non-Game Wildlife Fund

500 Lafayette Rd.

P.O. Box 25

St. Paul Mn, 55155

But wait, there’s still one more way you can donate to this effort, and that’s by getting a Critical Habitat License Plate. When you do this, a $30 donation will be included in your registration renewal fee.

These are simple ways that you can donate to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and help ensure future generations will have the same opportunities to enjoy Minnesota wildlife just as you have.
