The Lincoln Center is a homeless shelter on the southeast side of St. Cloud. They want to increase their overnight capacity limit. Tonight the Zoning Board of Appeals will hear a request from Homeless Helping Homeless which runs the Lincoln Center on Lincoln Avenue to amend a Conditional Use Permit.

The city's of St. Paul and Minneapolis have instituted a mask mandate to deal with the increase in COVID-19 cases. CentraCare spokesman Dr. George Morris went to local civic leaders, which includes St. Cloud area mayors, to ask them to institute a mask mandate indoors at public places like restaurants, bars, grocery stores and retail establishments late last week.

2020 was a challenging year with the COVID-19 pandemic waging on. 2021 has also presented many challenges which includes the continuing pandemic, a drought, fires in Canada, the Taliban retaking Afghanistan with U.S. troops leaving, a job shortage and people driving faster on our roadways leading to more deaths in Minnesota.
